In 2026, Khloe Simmonds, then aged 26, was sentenced to seven and a half years’ imprisonment (90 months) at Harrow Crown Court after pleading guilty to eight counts of perverting the course of public justice through a systematic series of false rape allegations.
The sentencing followed a prolonged inquiry by the Metropolitan Police into complaints lodged between July 2018 and January 2026.
The court heard that Simmonds spent hundreds of hours engaging with specialist officers to manufacture and sustain fraudulent allegations of serious sexual violence.
At the height of the offending, Simmonds alone was responsible for 2.5 per cent of all rape and serious sexual assault allegations recorded across the entire London Borough of Harrow.
Prosecutor Ben Temple detailed how the false reports led to the wrongful apprehension, interrogation, and detention of multiple innocent men:
In the summer of 2018, Simmonds claimed an Afghan national held a knife to her throat and carried out a sexual assault. The man was arrested, detained, and remained under active police investigation for 88 days before detectives established that Simmonds had made unsolicited advances that he had rejected.
In February 2022, Simmonds met a chef via the dating platform Grindr and invited him to her flat. When the man left after feeling uncomfortable, Simmonds called 999 claiming he had drugged and raped her. The victim was arrested outside his home, describing the process as humiliating after spending 20 hours in custody.
In March 2022, following a date, Simmonds claimed to have been raped inside a taxi by the driver. Police obtained electronic telematics data from the vehicle, which revealed that the car had never dropped below 25 miles per hour and had made no stops, completely annihilating the claim.
In June 2022, a musician who met Simmonds fell asleep on her sofa without any sexual contact taking place. While he slept, Simmonds called the police alleging oral rape, resulting in his arrest.
In January 2026, Simmonds approached members of the public claiming she was in an abusive situation and had been raped on a public bench by a man she had met. CCTV footage secured by investigators showed that no assault had occurred.
Further fabricated reports were made regarding an ex-partner and an unidentified individual on separate dates.
Simmonds entered guilty pleas to:
- Eight counts of tending and intending to pervert the course of public justice
His Honour Judge John Lodge stated that the defendant had pursued a sustained, calculated pattern of conduct that subjected innocent individuals to immense trauma while depleting critical public resources that should have been dedicated to genuine victims of serious crime.
The court sentenced Simmonds to seven years and six months’ imprisonment.
Release Calculation: Under UK sentencing legislation governing standard determinate non-sexual sentences, Simmonds is required to serve one-half (45 months / 3 years and 9 months) of the 90-month sentence in prison custody before becoming eligible for automatic statutory release on licence. The projected release date falls in June 2030, with the remaining 45 months served under community supervision and probation monitoring until the full term expires in March 2034.
