In 2022, the Offender Register reported that a judge had sentenced a child rapist, Keith Phillips, to prison, describing him as one of the most “evil” criminals he had ever encountered.
A jury at York Crown Court was informed that Keith Phillips, then 64, had abused five children over the course of several decades.
He had denied five rape charges, nine indecent assault charges, and sexual assault of a girl under 13 and sexual activity with a minor.
However, he was convicted of 68 offences following his trial and was sentenced to 28 years in prison on 2 December.
Phillips, of Huntington, North Yorkshire, was accused of committing numerous offences, according to the court.
Phillips would not be eligible for parole until he reached the age of 82.
