In 2026, the Offender Register reported that Charles David Pratt, a sex offender who was serving a 27-year sentence at HMP Leeds, passed away from pneumonia, which was caused by influenza, a new report has concluded.
In 2024, Charles David Pratt, a resident of Skipton, was found guilty of 19 charges.
These charges included multiple counts of rape, other serious sex offences, and one count of attempted indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16.
Pratt had employed violence and threats against two female adults and a female minor during the offence.
The Prisons Ombudsman’s investigation determined that the clinical care Pratt received at Leeds was of a reasonable standard and comparable to what he could have anticipated in the community.
The coroner determined that Pratt died as a result of natural causes during an inquest.
