A 33-year-old man who accumulated thousands of extreme child sexual abuse images and distributed dozens more to other individuals has received a suspended sentence at Truro Crown Court.
Jamie Trudgian, of Bowling Green Cottages, Bowling Green, St Austell, appeared for sentence after pleading guilty to an extensive indictment of digital sexual offences following an investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police.
The court heard that the offending spanned six years, from 2018 to 2024, centred around Bugle. Digital forensic examinations of Trudgian’s devices revealed thousands of illicit files. In relation to possession charges, officers identified 2,530 Category A images—the highest severity tier under UK sentencing guidelines—along with 1,388 Category B and 880 Category C images.
Further counts of making indecent images related to another 1,960 Category A and 1,057 Category B images found within his possession. Beyond collecting the files, Trudgian actively distributed material to others online, passing along 84 Category A, 37 Category B, and 17 Category C images. In addition to the child abuse material, Trudgian possessed 55 extreme pornographic images depicting bestiality.
Under the provisions of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992, all children depicted in sexual abuse imagery are granted lifelong statutory anonymity. Disseminating, publishing, or broadcasting any identifying information concerning victims in such cases is strictly prohibited by law across all media platforms.

- Multiple counts of making indecent images of children (Categories A and B)
- Multiple counts of distributing indecent images of children (Categories A, B, and C)
- Possession of extreme pornography involving animals
- The judge handed down a total sentence of 27 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
As part of the sentence, the court ordered:

- Mandatory compliance with sex offender notification requirements for a period of 10 years under the provisions of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
