On Monday, June 22, 2026, Jack Burrows, 20, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court and received a sentence of 35 months in a juvenile detention facility.
Despite his denial of the crime, a jury found him guilty. The defendant, at 16 years old, sexually abused a minor at a St Helens house in May 2023.
In addition, the judge issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a ten-year restraining order that forbade Burrows from communicating with the victim.
Burrows will now spend time at a young offenders‘ institution because this was an extremely serious offence,” Detective Constable Lauren Baker stated.
“Rest assured that throughout the entire process, from the initial report to the court hearings, our specialised team is available to support victims with sensitivity and compassion in investigations involving sexual offences.
I would still strongly advise anyone who has experienced any kind of sexual abuse to report it to the police or one of our partner organisations.
“We work with partner organisations like Victim Care Support Service and RASA, who are there to support victims of this crime, and we take all such reports extremely seriously.”
