In 2018, the Offender Database reported that Nigel Young, the Swanage Paedophile Sex Offender, a former school caterer, accessed a “sadistic”, violent pornographic image over a Dropbox link.
Nigel Young, residing on Taunton Road in Swanage, Dorset, accessed images depicting the abuse of youngsters approximately 10 years old, alongside photographs of an adult lady being assaulted and instances of bestiality, as presented in court on Friday.
The defendant was apprehended last year when investigators from the National Crime Agency (NCA) discovered a Cloud storage platform utilised for obscene photos.
Users accessed the link through the Chat To Go chatroom.
Nigel Young, then 51, a veteran of the Army’s cadet corps for 22 years, confessed to 10 charges of possessing indecent photos of minors, two charges of holding banned images and two charges of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
Stuart Ellacott, prosecuting at Bournemouth Crown Court, stated: “In November 2017, the NCA obtained intelligence regarding a Dropbox cloud storage platform that housed indecent images.
“A total of 504 individuals worldwide accessed that specific account and downloaded illicit photographs of minors.
Among them, 27 were situated in the UK. One of the detected IP addresses was associated with this defendant.
Nigel Young accessed Dropbox on nine distinct occasions from June 4 to July 15, 2017.
Judge Peter Crabtree OBE imposed a two-year community order, which includes 100 hours of community service and 60 days of rehabilitation activity requirements.
Nigel Young was required to adhere to the stipulations of a sexual harm prevention order for a duration of five years.
