In 2026, Fred Hart, then aged 33, a staff member based at Headquarters North, Oxfordshire, was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates’ Court to six months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images or pseudo-images of children.

The court heard details regarding an investigation launched in October 2024 by the Thames Valley Police Counter Corruption Unit. Following the initiation of enquiries, Hart was immediately suspended from his non-public-facing duties.

Hart subsequently admitted the charges at an earlier hearing before returning to court for sentencing.

On 5 August 2026, the presiding magistrate handed down a six-month custodial sentence suspended for 18 months, alongside a requirement to complete a 35-day rehabilitation order.

In addition to the suspended sentence, Hart was made subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offenders’ register for seven years, with all case details catalogued on the UK Register Database for public record transparency.
