After contacting two youngsters in violation of a court order, David Harcombe, a sexual offender, was sent back to prison.

A 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) imposed in August 2023 forbids David Harcombe from having any contact with a child under the age of sixteen.

In July 2025, he twice disobeyed the injunction by harassing two girls on the street.

Police were notified on July 17 that a man in a van had approached a little child in Forest Town, Mansfield.

Following the event, the victim knocked on several doors for assistance before receiving assistance from members of the public.

On July 29, a second incident occurred in Forest Town, where a girl reported that a guy had approached her.

Detectives from the force’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit conducted an investigation, identified Harcombe as a suspect, and charged him.

The 42-year-old from HMP Nottingham later pleaded guilty to two charges of violating an SHPO.

He was sentenced to five years in prison at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, June 22.

To safeguard the two victims, the SHPO will remain in effect, along with indefinite retraining requirements. Harcombe will also need to register with the police for an extended period.
