In 2026, the Offender Register confirmed that Craig Nicholls, who was born in Dover and currently resides in Glasgow, has connections to numerous other regions in Kent.
In May 2025, he was captured on camera committing a gruesome assault on his black Labrador, Juke.
The video captures him violently striking the dog against a wall, followed by a series of hard hits and kicks that caused Juke to be thrown against a door frame, spin around, and crash his jaw heavily onto the floor.
The case was forwarded to the Scottish SPCA by Police Scotland after Police Scotland was informed.
The dog’s absolute terror of Nicholls was evident to Inspector Cannon upon his arrival, upon viewing the footage and meeting Juke. The dog had sustained severe physical injuries and profound mental trauma.
Nicholls became belligerent when officers attempted to transport Juke to safety. He subsequently declined to contest the official notice requiring him to surrender the dog, and as a result, Juke was transferred entirely to the Scottish SPCA.
He has now successfully transitioned into a devoted, lifelong residence with the assistance of time, care, and patience.
Inspector Cannon stated, “It was incredibly distressing to observe the dog’s fear.” No animal should ever be subjected to such savagery.
The only way to prevent further harm was to remove him.
He was issued a £470 fine and was prohibited from owning, maintaining, or working with any animals for a period of four years, which will conclude in July 2030.
