In 2026, Callum Avent, then aged 29, of St Matthews Close, Holbeach, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to making and distributing indecent images of children and perverting the course of justice.
During a hearing on May 20, 2026, the court heard details regarding an investigation by Lincolnshire Police into Avent’s activities between July 2020 and January 2024. Prosecutors outlined how Avent made still and moving images of children across Category A (most severe), Category B, and Category C.
Avent admitted three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, one count of distributing indecent photographs of a child, and one count of perverting the course of justice.
At the time of the investigation, Avent was employed by the Peterborough United Foundation as a Sport Scholarship Coach, Development Player Programme Manager, and Elite Player Performance JPL U15 Coach.
Upon being contacted by Lincolnshire Police, the foundation suspended Avent and informed EFL in the Community, the Football Association, and the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).
Following confirmation that police had uncovered evidence, Avent was formally dismissed from his position. The club confirmed all relevant safeguarding procedures were strictly adhered to during the inquiry.
