In 2022, Buddha Maitreya, the North Clifton Paedophile Buddhist, a self-proclaimed monk, received a two-year prison sentence after confessing to the indecent assault of two 12-year-old children.
Buddha Maitreya, originally named Koji Takeuchi, admitted to charges associated with offences in Nottinghamshire and Brighton.
The 82-year-old was incarcerated for a comparable offence in 2020, which encouraged further victims to step forward.
Buddha Maitreya was admitted to three counts of indecent assault at Hove Crown Court on 21 September.
The “monk” gained popularity as the proprietor of the Pure Land meditation centre and Japanese garden in North Clifton, Nottinghamshire, and had been in several television programs before his imprisonment.
Judge Jeremy Gold QC stated that Koji Takeuchi had exploited a position of trust to commit the charges.
The initial two charges pertained to a girl residing in Brighton during the 1970s.
Buddha Maitreya also confessed to committing indecent assault against a 12-year-old child in Nottinghamshire during the 1980s.
An 82-year-old individual inaugurated a two-acre Japanese garden at his residence on Trent Lane, North Clifton.
Buddha Maitreya, originally sentenced to four years in prison in 2020, received an additional two-year incarceration.
He will be permanently listed on the sex offenders register, and a sexual harm prevention order will stay in effect to limit him access to children upon his release.
Detective Constable Stewart Cameron from Sussex Police’s Safeguarding Investigation Unit stated, “Koji Takeuchi traversed the nation instructing meditation.”
He possessed a collection of Japanese gardens in Nottinghamshire that frequently appeared on television programs and attracted thousands of visitors annually.
“However, he employed these to conceal the sexual abuse he perpetrated against young girls.”
He ingratiated himself with their families to secure their trust for the execution of the crimes.
“Koji Takeuchi profoundly affected the lives of his youthful victims.”
Moral of the story for UK adults – If a Buddhist monk, Nigerian prince, Russian Oligarch, Hinduism Guru, etc., is based in the UK, you can be sure they are not what they say. So don’t leave your children alone with them. Ask yourself, “Why the hell would they be in the UK???????????”.
