In 2026, Billy Conners, a 26-year-old man from Salisbury, was jailed for 19 months after admitting to repeated physical assaults against his partner.
Billy Conners, formerly of Castle Road, Salisbury, was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on 27 July 2026 after pleading guilty to two counts of assault. The court heard that in April 2026, the victim—a woman in her 30s from Melksham—reported multiple domestic attacks that occurred during their two-month relationship. On 30 March, Conners bit, spat on, and verbally abused the victim. On 2 April, Conners launched a violent attack, pushing the victim to the ground, punching her in the face and ribs, kicking her in the head, and spitting on her before attempting to prevent her from leaving the property.
Following the victim’s report to Wiltshire Police, Conners was arrested, charged, and remanded in custody. The judge handed down a 19-month custodial sentence to reflect the repeated and violent nature of the domestic assaults.
In addition to his 19-month custodial sentence, Conners remains subject to statutory public protection monitoring and legal safeguards.
Court orders and probation supervision will remain active upon his eventual release from prison to protect the victim and manage future domestic abuse risks.
