In 2022, a “dangerous pervert” from Preston, who sexually assaulted a woman while she was asleep, was incarcerated.

Lancashire Police reported that Ashley Iddon, then 29, of Bamber Bridge, Preston, sent the woman numerous messages, some of which accused her of being responsible for his “vile” attack.

On the day of his trial, he entered a plea of guilty to two counts of rape at Preston Crown Court.

Det Con Rebecca Pugh stated that he exhibited “appalling” and “warped” attitudes toward women following his 11-year incarceration.

The police reported that Iddon, of Well Orchard, confessed to the actions he had taken against his colleagues during his arrest, telling one of them, “She forced me to do it.”

He was required to sign the sex offenders register for the duration of his life.

Police reported that the woman expressed her satisfaction with being able to move on from the situation and her conviction that Iddon had received the sentence he deserved following the sentencing.
