After a trial, Dewi Jones of The Copse in Runcorn was found guilty of rape and convicted on June 26 at Liverpool Crown Court.
The 36-year-old was sentenced to seven years behind bars.
In addition, he had to sign the sex offenders register and get an indefinite restraining order.
The court heard that in 2024, he had orally assaulted the woman and limited her breathing, that she was afraid and that she feared she was going to die.
Despite her protestations, he refused to stop, and she had to fight him off. Jones then went on to insult her and blame her.
