In 2026, the Offender Register reported that a police officer, Alex Trusler, had entered a guilty plea following an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Unit.

Alex Trusler, 36, of Burntwood, was found guilty of four counts of sexual assault on a female (women, not children [EDITOR NOTE – weird distinction for the police to make]) at Northampton Crown Court today (Friday, July 10).

The offences occurred in 2022 and 2023. As soon as the allegations were reported, Trusler, a response officer in Cannock, was suspended in September 2023.

As stated by Deputy Chief Constable Caroline Marsh, Alex Trusler’s actions are a fundamental betrayal of the standards that every member of Staffordshire Police is expected to uphold.

Trusler is scheduled to be sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on September 8.

Additionally, he will be subject to misconduct proceedings to determine whether he should be sacked.
