In 2022, Aaron Hadley, the Erdington Rapist, was incarcerated following his conviction for two rapes in Tamworth.
Aaron Hadley, 19, from Erdington, Birmingham, was sentenced today, Friday, August 5, at Birmingham Crown Court to 10 years of imprisonment.
On June 9, a jury at Stafford Crown Court convicted him of two counts of rape and three counts of actual bodily harm after a three-week trial.
During the commission of the offences, Aaron Hadley utilised a leg brace and crutches.
On Sunday, 31 October, at approximately 3:30 AM, Aaron Hadley sexually assaulted a 19-year-old lady at a pub on Market Street.
Fifty minutes later, at 4:20 AM, Aaron Hadley sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl on George Street. He subsequently struck her with a crutch, resulting in significant bruising and swelling around her eye. He subsequently struck her again on the back of the head.
He also assaulted another woman, striking her in the back of the head, rendering her temporarily unconscious, and a guy who attempted to assist her, hitting him on the right side of the face.
Aaron Hadley was apprehended on 15 December 2021, after a media appeal by Staffordshire Police.
District of Columbia Beth Otter, from the Child Protection and Exploitation Team, stated: “I am gratified that the sentence imposed corresponds with the severity of the offences.”
“I commend the victims for their courage and resilience in coming forward, and I hope it provides them solace that justice has been served.”
