Paul Allen, a convicted Caerleon paedophile who raped one schoolboy and sexually molested another, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Paul Allen, 60, of Newport, was informed by Judge Daniel Williams that he possessed “an obsessive interest in the sexual exploitation of young boys.”

The defendant, Paul Allen, from Backhall Street, Caerleon, was convicted after a trial involving many charges.

They included rape, sexual assault and inciting a 13-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity.

At Newport Crown Court Paul Allen was handed an 18-year jail sentence plus an extended licence period of four years.

He will serve two thirds of the custodial sentence before he will be eligible for parole.

Paul Allen will be on the sex offenders’ register for life.
