In 2026, West Yorkshire Police launched a major investigation and issued a public appeal for witnesses after a 14-year-old child sustained catastrophic, life-changing facial injuries during an unprovoked attack by an adult male in Bradford.

The incident occurred during morning commute hours between 8:30 AM and 8:45 AM on Thursday 22 October 2026 at the rear of Kensington Street, situated near the junction of Willow Street. According to investigating detectives, the 14-year-old victim observed an unknown adult male urinating in the street in broad daylight. When the young boy verbally challenged the man regarding his behaviour, the suspect responded with immediate and severe physical violence, subjecting the child to a brutal assault.

Emergency services were dispatched, and the child was rushed to hospital presenting with severe facial trauma. Medical teams performed emergency surgical procedures, and the victim remains under ongoing specialised medical care to treat injuries described by police as life-changing.

Bradford District CID initiated extensive house-to-house inquiries and audited neighbourhood CCTV networks. Officers released a physical description of the assailant:

An adult male

Described as tall and of heavy, fat build

Bald with a visible facial beard

Detective Constable Jenny Farrell of Bradford CID stated:
“This was a particularly violent attack by an adult on a vulnerable 14-year-old boy which has caused him severe injuries. We’d like to hear from anyone who lives in the area who may have CCTV footage or information that will help identify the person involved.”

Detectives are appealing directly to residents living near Kensington Street, Willow Street, and adjoining roads to examine private security systems, video doorbells, and vehicle dashcams recorded during the morning of 22 October.
