In 2026, West Yorkshire Police launched an urgent cross-county search and circulated a wanted appeal for 42-year-old Kibriya Ahmed, who is actively sought for breaching a protective non-molestation order in connection with the disappearance of his two young children.

According to investigating officers, Ahmed is subject to a legally binding non-molestation order that strictly prohibits him from having any unsupervised contact with his two sons. Concerns escalated rapidly after both children were formally reported missing from Liversedge, Kirklees, on Saturday 24 October 2026.

Detectives believe that Ahmed holds direct knowledge of the current whereabouts of both children and may be actively evading law enforcement with them. Extensive arrest inquiries and search operations have been conducted across Kirklees and neighbouring regions without trace. Police confirmed that Ahmed maintains extensive ties to the North West, particularly within the Rochdale and Greater Manchester areas.

West Yorkshire Police released physical descriptions of both missing children to assist the public:

Yousaf (aged 15): Described as approximately 5ft 11in tall, of medium build, with short black hair and black facial hair.

Mohammed (aged 12): Described as approximately 4ft 9in tall, of slim build, with short black hair and wearing glasses.

Safeguarding detectives are urging members of the public, transport workers, and residents across West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester to remain vigilant and report any sightings immediately.

Anyone with information that could assist in locating Kibriya Ahmed or confirming the safety of the two children is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police by calling 101 or via the online live chat facility at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/livechat, quoting reference number 13260586098.

Information can also be shared with complete anonymity through the independent charity Crimestoppers by dialling 0800 555 111.
