Jason Baker, aged 36, of no fixed address in the Soham area, has been sentenced to five years and nine months’ imprisonment at Cambridge Crown Court after admitting to breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), supplying class A drugs, and making CSAM.
The court heard that Baker had previously been convicted in 2017 of a CSA offence committed against a child under the age of 13, resulting in a four-year prison sentence and the implementation of an SHPO with strict prohibitions against contacting children. In June 2025, Baker was placed on a two-year community order after breaching the notification requirements linked to his sex offender registration.
Despite these legal restrictions, Baker initiated contact with two 15-year-old girls in September 2025. The court heard that Baker arranged to meet the two children on several occasions in the vicinity of their homes in Soham, where he offered them illicit class A substances.
Following disclosures regarding his behaviour, officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s child sexual exploitation hub launched an investigation and arrested Baker. Digital examinations and subsequent inquiries uncovered additional offences relating to the production of child abuse imagery and the distribution of class A drugs.
Appearing before Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Baker entered guilty pleas to:
- Three counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO)
- Two counts of supplying class A drugs
- One count of making an indecent photograph of a child (CSAM)
The presiding judge sentenced Baker to a total custodial sentence of five years and nine months’ imprisonment.
