Jamie Wallace, aged 22, of Leicestershire, has been sentenced at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty to three counts of making CSAM across a five-year period.
The court heard that Wallace was a serving Special Police Constable when Leicestershire Police officers arrested him in October 2023 following an investigation into online abuse. Wallace was suspended from duty immediately upon his arrest and later tendered his resignation. A formal gross misconduct hearing held in July 2024 concluded that he would have been dismissed from the police service without notice had he remained in post.
During the execution of his arrest, detectives seized two mobile phone handsets in Wallace’s possession. Forensic examination of the devices established that Wallace had engaged in downloading illicit media between December 2018 and October 2023. In total, investigators recovered over 450 CSAM files, comprising 122 Category A images—the most severe classification under UK law—alongside 217 Category B images and 112 Category C images.
Appearing at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on 8 April 2026, Wallace admitted the full indictment before the case was committed to the Crown Court for sentence.

The presiding judge sentenced Wallace to a two-year community order and directed him to complete 70 hours of unpaid work. The court also ordered Wallace to pay £150 in prosecution costs and a £114 victim surcharge, placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for five years, and imposed a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
