Anthony Metcalfe, then aged 34, of Hartlepool, has been sentenced to prison at Teesside Crown Court for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Metcalfe, who has been on the sex offenders register for life following a 2015 conviction, was prohibited from making unapproved contact with children or using unmonitored internet devices. On 10 May 2022, his police offender manager conducted a routine visit to his property and located an illicit digital tablet.

Subsequent forensic checks of the tablet revealed Metcalfe had adopted an alias on Snapchat to communicate with six girls under the age of 16, specifically two aged 15, three aged 13, and one aged 12.

Metcalfe admitted the breach during court proceedings at Teesside Crown Court.

In November 2022, the presiding judge handed Metcalfe a custodial sentence, with all case details catalogued on the UK Register Database for public record transparency.
