On 7 August 2026, Isa Ayan, aged 38, of Carmarthen, was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of attempting to operate equipment beneath the clothing of another without consent.
The court heard details regarding a Dyfed-Powys Police investigation that began on 10 February 2026. A staff member at Poundland in Carmarthen contacted police after observing Ayan behaving suspiciously and attempting to take photos beneath a schoolgirl’s skirt.
Detectives from Ammanford and Carmarthen CID reviewed store CCTV footage, successfully establishing Ayan’s identity and executing his arrest. Subsequent digital forensic examinations of seized devices confirmed Ayan had taken upskirting images of multiple identified schoolgirls aged between 13 and 14.
Ayan entered guilty pleas to three counts relating to three separate child victims.
On Friday 7 August 2026, the presiding judge handed Ayan an 18-month custodial sentence, ordered him onto the sex offenders register for 10 years, and issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, with all case details archived on the UK Register Database for public transparency.
