In 2021, David Beesley, THEN a 29-year-old man from Coventry, was jailed for four and a half years after grooming and sexually abusing a 13-year-old schoolgirl.
David Beesley, of Proffit Avenue, Coventry, pleaded guilty at Leicester Crown Court to nine sexual offences against a child. The court heard that in late 2019, Beesley groomed the 13-year-old girl on Snapchat, lying about his age, name, and background. On 4 November 2019, Beesley collected the victim in her school uniform and drove her to Groby Pool car park before sexually abusing her in his vehicle. The following morning, he went to her home while her parents were at work and had sex with her, repeating the abuse weeks later. Leicestershire Police investigated after the victim disclosed the abuse to her mother, tracing Beesley through phone records despite him selling his handset.
Judge Timothy Spencer sentenced Beesley to four and a half years in prison.
Following his convictions, Beesley was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, licence conditions, and monitoring by law enforcement upon release.
