In 2021, Jemiah Rose, a then-56-year-old man from Blackpool, was jailed for eight years and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life after being convicted of sexually abusing his former stepdaughter when she was a child.
Jemiah Rose, of Brisbane Place, Blackpool, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court after being found guilty by a jury at Burnley Combined Court of two counts of indecent assault and two counts of indecent assault of a child. The court heard that Rose sexually abused the victim, who waived her legal right to anonymity to encourage other survivors to come forward, between the ages of 12 and 15, after becoming her mother’s partner. Despite the victim’s childhood disclosures being dismissed at the time, she reported the historical abuse to Lancashire Constabulary in 2018. Rose denied the charges but was convicted following a trial.
The judge sentenced Rose to eight years in prison and ordered him to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Following his convictions for child sexual offences, Rose was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, lifetime licence supervision, and long-term risk management by law enforcement upon any eventual release from prison.
