In 2021, Michael Roberts, a then 38-year-old man from Mevagissey, was sentenced following court proceedings regarding historic offences involving a child.
Michael Roberts, formerly known as Michael Brooke-Feather, was sentenced at Truro Crown Court after being found guilty by a jury of indecent assault relating to incidents that occurred in the 1990s.
The court heard that Roberts had previous convictions relating to prohibited material and breaches of court orders. Following consideration of sentencing guidelines, Judge Simon Carr handed down a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years.
As part of the sentence, Roberts was ordered to complete a rehabilitation activity requirement and the Horizons programme. He was also placed under a 12-month GPS tracking system and remains subject to legal restrictions.
