In 2021, a ‘manipulative’ paedophile, Amjid Hussain, who engaged in sexual intercourse with two vulnerable juvenile girls in city centre hotels and groomed them on Snapchat, was sentenced to ten years in prison.

Police discovered Amjid Hussain, then 38, and a 15-year-old girl in a Manchester room in January of last year, and he was apprehended on suspicion of rape. They had been informed by a concerned individual who had passed by.

The city’s crown court heard that between 2018 and 2020, Hussain had been communicating with two other schoolgirls on the social media app. As a result, they seized numerous devices.

A few weeks prior, he had encountered one of them in a hotel room in Leeds. In exchange for sexual intercourse, he offered her £300 and purchased vodka and cigarettes for her.

Hussain, a resident of Blackburn, entered a plea of guilty to the following charges: paying for the sexual services of a child, cultivating and engaging in sexual communication with a child, and grooming and sexual activity with a child.

Back in 2014, the court was informed that he had been issued a three-year supervision order for kissing another 15-year-old girl on a bus.

Hussain was handed an extended sentence by the judge, who informed him that he had participated in the “calculated manipulation of vulnerable teenage girls.”

Hussain will be required to comply with a sexual harm prevention order for a period of ten years and will be on the sex offenders register for the duration of his life.
