In 2026, the Offender Register confirmed that A MIGRANT, Foisal Ahmed, who fled the country after being convicted of rape, child neglect, and controlling and coercive behaviour, has been extradited to the United Kingdom to serve his prison sentence.
On Monday, January 19, 2019, Foisal Ahmed, of West Street, Buckingham, was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment at Chester Crown Court in his absence.
Following a nine-day trial in September 2025, the 34-year-old was previously convicted of two counts of rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and child neglect.
The victim reported that Ahmed had assaulted and violated her on multiple occasions over the course of several months, prompting the Cheshire Police to respond to an address in Crewe in November 2023. Additionally, he assaulted the victim’s young child during this time.
Ahmed was promptly apprehended and interviewed by law enforcement officials in connection with the offences, and he was subsequently prosecuted. Nevertheless, he neglected to appear in court on the final day of the trial, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Detectives established a connection between Ahmed and a French address after an international appeal to locate him.
The French Judiciary, specifically the Paris Judicial Police Directorate, Interpol, the National Crime Agency (NCA), and CPS, were all instrumental in the successful location and apprehension of Ahmed on April 28, 2026.
Ahmed has been repatriated to the United Kingdom to serve his custodial sentence.
