In 2026, the Offender Register reported that Michael Wisdom, a Birmingham paedophile, had been incarcerated for the sexual abuse of a young child in the city.
In April of this year, Michael Wisdom was found guilty of a series of sexual offences against children and the possession of indecent images.
Additionally, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison and an additional eight years of probation upon his parole at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday (Monday). He also received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a period of 20 years and will be required to remain on the Sex Offender Register for the duration of his life.
The girl who was abused by Wisdom in Birmingham in 1979 came forward last year to report historic sexual abuse, and his name was reported. Wisdom was 67 years old at the time.
In late 2025, Wisdom was apprehended at his Birmingham residence following an investigation.
Wisdom attempted to dispose of his mobile phone upon the officers’ arrival. Subsequently, it was determined that the device contained numerous indecent images of children, including Category A images (the most severe category).
The investigation also uncovered communications from Wisdom to a woman that discussed the abuse of a girl.
Wisdom denied all of the charges during the interview, but she failed to provide an alternative explanation. Consequently, she was charged with indecent assault and possession of indecent images.
We were able to establish a case against Wisdom and obtain justice for the survivors through their testimonies. Wisdom was convicted on April 27.
