In 2026, the Offender Register reported that a TikTok paedophile, Keith Stobbart, had been incarcerated once more after purchasing a new tablet “to watch TV” without disclosing the purchase to the authorities.
Although Keith Stobbart was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), he failed to inform officers within three days of purchasing a black Samsung tablet in May.
The 68-year-old, who is presently incarcerated at HMP Holme House in Stockton, has a history of child sex offences. In 2024, he was most recently sentenced to 32 months in prison for accessing indecent images of children and engaging in sexual communications with a child.
In the past, Stobbart has repeatedly violated SHPOs and has seven convictions for 21 offences, as the Teesside Crown Court heard.
In 2008, he was sentenced to six years in prison for historic sexual offences. Subsequently, in 2015 and 2022, he was rearrested for violating an SHPO.
In 2022, he was issued a community order for sexual communication with a minor after sending a graphic, sexual comment to a 14-year-old on TikTok.
Stobbart was requested to surrender all electronic devices by an offender management officer during a visit on June 6, according to prosecutor Imogen Eastham-Brown.
The court was informed that he presented a black Samsung tablet and claimed to have acquired it on June 1. Nevertheless, the search history for May 23 and 29 was identified upon examination.
This was a violation of his seven-year SHPO.
Stobbart, who was defending himself on a live link from prison, stated that he had been sleeping rough in his vehicle for weeks and was “terribly sorry” for violating the order.
The defendant, who claimed to be in the process of recovering from cancer, stated that he had only acquired the device to watch television while living in the car.
Judge Nathan Adams rejected this as a valid justification and characterised it as a “deliberate breach” to fail to notify the authorities of the device.
Stobbart, who was on licence at the time of the offence, was already incarcerated at Holme House when Judge Adams issued the sentence. He was sentenced to a term of ten months.
