In 2026, the Offender Register reported that a Gainsborough Paedophile, Raymond Utley, had been imprisoned for 18 years and 11 months as a consequence of the fortitude, courage, and resilience of courageous victims of a sex offender.
Raymond Utley perpetrated abhorrent and repulsive sexual acts on his victims, resulting in emotional and psychological distress that ruined the childhood of one woman.
Utley’s initial victim was 14 years old when he sexually assaulted and abused her, with the offences occurring in Sheffield, Barnsley, and Doncaster.
He would purchase alcohol for her and even record himself sexually abusing her on a camcorder.
For more than two decades, his victim was subjected to the traumatic effects of Utley’s misconduct. Nevertheless, she exhibited remarkable courage and bravery by reporting his crimes to the police, which led to his arrest for multiple sexual offences.
Utley, 59, of Eastern Avenue, Gainsborough, entered a guilty plea to two counts of raping a female under the age of 16, three counts of indecent assault, and one count of taking an indecent photograph of a child in relation to his first victim.
