In 2022, a paedophile, Thomas Gwilliam-Carter, was incarcerated for drugging and raping a young girl, and subsequently distributing videos of the abuse online.
Investigators identified Thomas Gwilliam-Carter, 39, of Leominster, after abhorrent images he posted were discovered on devices belonging to a US suspect whom the FBI apprehended.
Following his arrest, over 3,600 indecent images of children were discovered on Gwilliam-Carter’s phone.
At the Worcester Crown Court, he was sentenced to 15 years and nine months.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) reported that certain images in the most severe categories depicted infants being abused.
Chat transcripts utilising the online pseudonym “keepedging247” revealed that the electrician informed other paedophiles on an online platform of his intention to administer drugs to a child to facilitate an attack.
He subsequently acknowledged that he had administered the sedative Phenergan to the child.
At a hearing on December 7, Gwilliam-Carter entered a guilty plea to one count of raping a child under the age of 13.
Additionally, he acknowledged three counts of creating indecent images of children and five counts of distributing them.
In court, he was sentenced to an eight-year extended term of parole.
Additionally, he was issued a lifetime sexual harm prevention order and was enrolled in the sexual offenders register for the duration of his life.
