In 2022, a Paedophile from Doncaster, Dale Ruff, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for utilising the internet and social media platforms to arrange a sexual encounter with a minor.
Between 8 August and 5 October of this year, Dale Ruff entered a guilty plea to nine offences.
Ruff, 36, of Grove Place, Balby Bridge, Doncaster, was sentenced to 14 years in prison at Leeds Crown Court yesterday (7/12).
He was also issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The charges encompassed the following: attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child, attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, attempting to incite a child to send images, and attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence.
The court was informed of Ruff’s use of the internet to communicate with the minor on social media platforms before arranging a meeting to commit sexual offences.
Ruff, however, was unaware that he was participating in a conversation with detectives from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU).
