In 2018, the Offender Database reported that Rick Davidson, the Forfar Rapist Sex Offender, released after purportedly violating bail conditions while confronting several abuse accusations, raped a young mother one week post-release.

The woman stated she was experiencing financial difficulties for her daughter’s upcoming birthday and proposed sexual favours to Rick Davidson in exchange for money.

She informed the High Court in Edinburgh that Rick Davidson, then 48, claimed he did not engage in paid sexual activities before subjecting her to a horrific trauma.

The then 27-year-old woman said, “Things got quite heated very quickly. He pushed me on the bed, and he raped me.”

She said Rick Davidson applied force to her back, and she could not move. She told the court: “When he pushed me down, he slammed my head off the floor.”

Advocate depute Derick Nelson asked the woman how long the rape lasted, and she replied: “I don’t know. It felt like forever.”

The woman said she remembered feeling helpless, saying, “I was asking him to get off.”

She fled to the bathroom at Rick Davidson’s home in Forfar, Scotland, after the attack on October 3 last year. “I was just trying to find a safe place. I was screaming,” she said.

She informed the court that she had never encountered Rick Davidson in person prior to visiting his residence after consuming alcohol and engaging in communication over social media.

She proposed sexual services in exchange for monetary compensation. The woman stated, “He claims he does not pay for sex.”

Rick Davidson denied the rape and a series of other charges spanning 22 years until the previous year during a 10-day trial. He was convicted of assaulting and raping the woman.

He had been released on bail twice at Forfar Sheriff Court before the sexual assault.

He was granted bail on September 26 of the previous year during his court appearance for allegedly violating the terms of his prior bail order. Why not?

Rick Davidson was additionally convicted of eight other assault offences involving four other women and a youngster aged between eight and eleven at the time of the attack.
