The Offender Database reported that Lewis Hawkett-Smith, a Christchurch Rapist Sex Offender, 32, was sentenced on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Bournemouth Crown Court.
He was convicted by a jury of abusing a female aged 13 or older through penetration at a prior hearing.
The inquiry commenced in the early hours of Sunday, 28 May 2023, following the victim’s report to the police of a sexual assault perpetrated by an unidentified male.
The woman was reportedly with a friend when she encountered Lewis Hawkett-Smith outside a pub on Fairmile Road.
After a brief separation from her buddy, the victim reached out at 3 am to report that she had been sexually assaulted in a public location.
The victim fled and encountered a couple returning home, who cared for her until law enforcement arrived.
After conducting CCTV investigations in the vicinity, detectives identified Lewis Hawkett-Smith as the suspect.
Subsequent checks at his residence and workplace led to his voluntary surrender to the police.
Lewis Hawkett-Smith, from Dorset, was condemned to five years and six months in prison.
