In 2020, Neil Rylance, the Brownsover Paedophile, a Rugby guy, downloaded ‘GROSS’ obscene photographs of naked infants, exploiting the prevailing health crisis to obscure his identity while exiting the court.

Neil Rylance concealed himself behind fears over the Coronavirus, wearing a surgical mask when departing Warwick Crown Court after receiving a community order.

Before exiting the courthouse, Rylance donned a surgical face mask, which he subsequently removed as he ignited a cigarette.

Neil Rylance, then 50, of Junewood Close, Brownsover, previously entered a guilty plea to three counts of producing obscene pictures of minors.

He received a two-year community order, which includes a 30-day rehabilitation program with a ‘Maps for Change’ workbook, was fined £500, and was mandated to register as a sex offender for five years.

Prosecutor Amiee Parkes stated that, following police intelligence regarding the dissemination of obscene photos of children in 2017, a warrant was executed at Rylance’s residence in June 2018.

Neil Rylance was apprehended on suspicion of possessing indecent material, and various equipment was confiscated, on which specialised officers discovered hundreds of both accessible and inaccessible indecent photographs of minors.

Evidence indicated the presence of almost 1,400 photos, comprising 12 in the most severe categories A and B.

The remaining photographs were classified as category C, depicting minors in nude or indecent situations, accessed between October 2017 and June 2018.

Miss Parkes noted that just 43 category C photographs were available, while the remainder were in an inaccessible location and had been removed.

Neil Rylance’s search history was examined, uncovering terms such as ‘pre-teen,’ ‘little girl kid models,’ and ‘child knickers.’

During the interview, Neil Rylance acknowledged the creation and distribution of category C photographs, although he asserted that no such material resided on his computer.

In a subsequent interview, he acknowledged uncertainty regarding its existence but conceded that he was the sole individual with access to it. According to Miss Parkes, it had two grade B photographs and 110 category C images.

Simon Hunka, in defence, stated that Neil Rylance had endured chronic health challenges, including anxiety and ocular complications, including corneal thinning, for which he had undergone one surgical procedure and was scheduled for another.

Neil Rylance was married, employed, managing his health issues, and having a wholly positive life. He just loved the idea of raping children.

The conclusion of his marriage in 2010 was the pivotal turning point in his life. His existence became dichotomous, comprising the routine of commuting to work and returning home.

He engaged in self-medication through alcohol, leading to an increasingly detrimental relationship with it, while his aspiration for a social life transitioned to the online realm.

“His perception of his actions became significantly distorted.” He rationalised that it was not as erroneous as he now understands it to be. Mr Hunka remarked that he might regard that day in 2018, when everything was revealed, as a favourable occasion.

In sentencing Neil Rylance, Judge Peter Cooke stated: “The evidence indicates that over a period of years, your conduct in chatrooms involved soliciting images of egregious material depicting the exploitation of children.”

You were further engrossed in it, although you remain a person of previously commendable character.

Before exiting the courthouse, Neil Rylance donned a surgical face mask, which he subsequently removed while igniting a cigarette.

His family and workplace friends support the paedophile.
