British, Patrick Leonard, the Bradford Paedophile, along with his brother, repeatedly raped a vulnerable young English girl, leading to her pregnancy.
Patrick Leonard, from Bradford, confessed to raping the girl while being aware of his HIV-positive status; fortunately, she did not get the virus.
DNA tests verified that the child she subsequently bore was his.
Patrick Leonard acknowledged two counts of rape before the trial but was subsequently convicted by a jury of additional crimes.
He received a 24-year prison term accompanied by a one-year extended licence as “an offender of particular concern.”
Judge Andrew Hatton saw Patrick Leonard’s grooming conduct and his “remarkably reckless” acts in light of his HIV status.
The judge stated, “You also admit to being forceful, controlling, and at times violent towards her during the act of rape.”
Patrick Leonard will be eligible for parole after 16 years, contingent upon Parole Board approval.
He will be registered as a lifelong sex offender and is subject to an indefinite restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim and other parties involved
