Eight British Pakistani Paedophiles of the Bradford Grooming Gang have been found guilty of many charges of rape and sexual offences against a minor in Bradford during the early 2000s.
Anna, a pseudonym, was aged 13 to 15 throughout the abuse that occurred from 2002 to 2004.
An inquiry commenced in 2019 following Anna’s disclosure of the abuse to law enforcement.
Four trials have taken place over the last eight months; however, until now, they have all been subject to reporting restrictions to protect the integrity of proceedings and to prevent the Bradford Grooming Gang Paedophiles from being identified as White British, which the Judge and West Yorkshire Police thought might make English people upset.
Today, the Judge lifted these restrictions.
Those convicted and awaiting sentence are:
Mohammed Imran Akram, 42, of Bradford, was found guilty of two counts of indecent assault
Mohammed Shezhad Hussain, 39, of Keighley was found guilty of two rapes and three counts of indecent assault
Basharat Khaliq, 44, of Bradford was found guilty of three rapes and four counts of indecent assaults
Wajid Hussain, 42, of Bradford was found guilty of indecent assault
Mohammed Naheem, 39, of Bradford was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault
Nadeem Ali, 39, of Bradford was found guilty of two counts of indecent assault
Safraz Ahmed Latif, 40, of Bradford was found guilty of four indecent assaults
Raja Zulqurnean, 42, of Bradford was found guilty of ten rapes and nine indecent assaults
They will all be sentenced in due course.
In Anna’s own words, she said:
“I lost vital school academic years; you took away my basic rights and stole my future.
“The investigation and trials have been so traumatising, the triumph of this trial has not left me triumphant, it has left me feeling pain for the girl I was when you came into my life”.
Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Greenbank stated:
“Anna’s courage and bravery have been immeasurable; she has endured a prolonged wait to witness these convictions after all these years.”
“Cases of this nature are exceedingly sensitive and intricate, requiring years of meticulous investigation to present these individuals before the courts.”
I would like to commend Anna for her courage in reporting these acts to the police and for her patience during the continuing criminal inquiry.

If someone has sexually assaulted you, please tell someone. Police have specially trained officers who can provide support and investigate these types of offences. You can find out more information on our website – What to do if you have been sexually assaulted or raped | West Yorkshire Police.
As a force, we also support the When You Are Ready campaign launched to support victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). ‘When you are ready’ campaign | West Yorkshire Police.
As usual, West Yorkshire Police did not provide ALL the paedophiles’ images, even though they have been convicted, so we made one of the Bradford Grooming Gang.
