Back in 2021, Christopher Johns, the Barnstaple Paedophile, A serious sex offender, was incarcerated for grooming a teenager he encountered online.
Christopher Johns, a 40-year-old farmer from Barnstaple, informed the child that he was 20 years old, as presented before Exeter Crown Court.
He bestowed upon her numerous gifts, including lingerie, transmitted sexual photographs, and convinced her to arrange a meeting.
Throughout eight trips, he fondled, kissed, and participated in sexual acts with the 15-year-old girl. He was so confident in his dominance over the child that he bragged to a buddy online about having seen her.
Christopher Johns has a documented history of preying on young girls and was recognised by authorities as a perilous offender, with cowardly British Justice impotent to stop him.
In 2011, he was convicted of analogous charges against a 14-year-old girl. He was incarcerated for four years and has subsequently obtained assistance and support from probation and a sex offender program.
Mr Herc Ashworth, in defence, stated that Christopher Johns was a solitary, ‘basic’ individual who lived a reclusive life, accompanied solely by his elderly mother and pets. His alone had intensified during the lockdown. The misconduct was confined to a five-week duration. He recognised his wrongdoing and expressed remorse.
The defendant, Christopher Johns, residing on Lyndhurst Avenue, acknowledged nine charges, including engaging in sexual conduct with a minor, enticing a minor to participate in sexual activity, communicating with a minor to perpetrate a sexual offence, and violating the conditions of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was incarcerated for five years and three months, followed by an additional extended licence period of five years.
Judge Peter Johnson said: “In 2011, you were convicted of offences of a very similar type. You were convicted of sexual activity with a female child involving penetration and, after a successful appeal at the Court of Appeal, were given an extended sentence of seven years, four custodial and three extended.
“You were also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and were subject to that when you committed these offences.”
He said that within two days of meeting the girl online, he was bombarding her with sexually explicit messages, despite knowing she was just 15.
Christopher Johns sent her sexual images, and she did the same.
“You also bombarded her with a substantial number of presents, including a mobile phone and lingerie and make-up,” said the judge.
“This was all part of the grooming.
“It was all towards one aim – so you could engage in sexual activity with her.”
He said he had considered the question of whether Johns posed a danger to the public.
A risk assessment tool had assessed Christopher Johns as posing just a nine per cent risk of offending again in the next two years.
Judge Johnson said he could not agree with the low assessment, and neither did probation. The court in 2011 had also found him dangerous. Judge Johnson said Christopher Johns had known the child was 15 but still met her in breach of his SHPO.
“I do find you to be dangerous still.”
Christopher Johns must serve five years and three months in prison before being released. He will then be subject to the extended five-year licence period in the community.
Christopher Johns was made subject to an SHPO order banning his contact with girls under 16 and limiting his use of internet devices.
He is out now, continuing his deviant career with the blessing of the British Justice System.
