A Derby Sex Offender, Ivan Godla, has been incarcerated after he pursued a young woman from a fast-food establishment in Derby and attempted to sexually assault her.
Ivan Godla observed the woman at the McDonald’s on Osmaston Park Road on the evening of 19 November of the previous year.
The 24-year-old thereafter trailed her along Portland Street, attempting to engage her in conversation while exposing himself.
The victim continued walking and crossed the street to evade Ivan Godla, who persisted in following her before forcefully shoving her to the ground and attempting to sexually assault her.
The woman successfully repelled Ivan Godla and fled before contacting the police.
Ivan Godla was apprehended on 21 November and subsequently charged and detained.
Ivan Godla, residing on Leacroft Road in Derby, acknowledged accusations of sexual assault and sexual exposure but initially denied a charge of attempted rape.
He ultimately confessed to attempted rape on the day of the trial in May of this year.
On Tuesday, September 23, Ivan Godla was sentenced at Derby Crown Court, where the judge mandated an 8-year prison term.
