A paedophile trucker, Edwin Darby, who sexually assaulted a young girl has been released from prison this week after spending slightly more than two years for his offences, but the young victim has yet to receive any counselling owing to backlogs.
Edwin Darby, now 69 years old, was released from prison on Monday, August 4, prior to his young victim receiving trauma care due to extensive waiting lists.
The mother of the girl, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, stated that her daughter is still awaiting trauma therapy, as she continues to experience flashbacks, nightmares, and sleepwalking.
Edwin Darby has completed a portion of his term and is now at liberty to walk our streets.
Despite Edwin Darby, previously of Berry Lane, Northampton, being on licence until 2027, which prohibits any direct or indirect contact with the family, the mother is concerned that the public would remain unaware if they encountered him in the street.
