A 34-year-old Paedophile carpenter, Callum Robins, from Houghton-le-Spring has evaded immediate incarceration after confessing to collecting child sexual assault photos, including some depicting youngsters as young as four in misery and suffering.
Callum Robins, a father of three, was discovered in possession of indecent photos of children, including some classified as category A, depicting the rape or sexual torture of young children, on his mobile phone.
The police confiscated the device during a visit to his residence on Percy Terrace in April.
Durham Crown Court was informed that Callum Robins accessed the material via WhatsApp and Telegram, having intentionally sought it out.
He subsequently informed authorities that he had gotten “desensitised” to pornographic material.
Callum Robins received a 10-month prison term, which was suspended for 18 months.
He is have to fulfil 80 hours of community service, attend 30 therapy sessions, and will be governed by a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
Callum Robins will be listed on the sex offenders’ registry for a duration of 10 years.
