The London Paedophile, Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho, has received a nine-year prison sentence for two distinct sexual assaults on minors in Ewell and Claygate in 2017.
Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho, 41 (DOB: 28/04/1983), residing on Askew Road in London, entered a guilty plea to a charge of sexual assault by penetration at Guildford Crown Court on 13 May.
He was convicted of a second offence of sexual assault against a child under 13 years during a prior hearing.
He was apprehended after submitting an application to become a Police Community Support Officer with the British Transport Police in September 2024 and was requested to produce a DNA sample as part of the vetting procedure, which corresponded with DNA collected after the two assaults.
The initial incident occurred on 10 July 2017 on a pathway in Hogsmill Open Space, Ewell. The 15-year-old victim was cycling alone when Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho approached her on foot, subsequently cornering and forcing her to the ground.
The victim bit Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho on the elbow and scraped his face, prompting him to flee.
The victim subsequently halted a passerby and recounted the incident.
A male DNA profile was extracted from her clothing and compared to the National DNA Database, yielding no matches. The profile has been uploaded to the database.
On 17 August 2017, a 10-year-old victim was walking alone on a sidewalk in Claygate Common when a guy jogged by her, then turned, seized her, and forcibly pinned her against a tree, where he raped her.
She successfully elevated her leg and struck Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho in the abdomen before fleeing.
The victim informed a family acquaintance of the incident, and they drove around in search of the perpetrator, identifying Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho, who was running. He was clad in the identical trousers and trainers he had donned during the assault on her.
A family acquaintance confronted Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho, who refuted any wrongdoing before fleeing the scene. The companion pursued him on foot and struck him, dislodging one earbud from his ear.
The DNA obtained from the earbud corresponded with the DNA retrieved from the initial offence and the sample submitted by Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho to the British Transport Police in September 2024, leading to his subsequent arrest.
Ronaldo Goncalo Bertoni Filho was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and will be registered on the Sex Offenders Register upon release.
