The Isle of Man Paedophile, Stephen Wraith, 71, former resident of Dewsbury, was sentenced to 11 years in prison with an additional year on extended licence at Leeds Crown Court today (Monday, 21 July) after a jury convicted him of multiple assault offences against a minor in Dewsbury.

A 71-year-old resident, Stephen Wraith, of Belmont Terrace, Isle of Man, was convicted of one act of indecent assault occurring between 1986 and 1988, and an additional count including at least 10 indecent attacks perpetrated between 1986 and 1993.

The victim was under 10 years old when the abuse commenced and came forward as an adult in 2022 to reveal her experiences.

The report initiated a protracted investigation by Kirklees child safeguarding detectives, resulting in Stephen Wraith, who had relocated to the Isle of Man, being interrogated and then charged with offences.

Stephen Wraith was convicted on 18 July following a five-day trial and will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Stephen Wraith was also subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
