A notable domestic abuse advocate from Perthshire and Stanley Paedophile, Nicola Murray, convicted of physical and sexual abuse of minors, has received a three-year prison sentence.
Nicola Murray pushed her tongue into the lips of two minors and coerced another child to observe an explicit image of a male with whom she was romantically involved.
Nicola Murray, 46, discussed her sexual experiences with the youngsters, including detailing the dimensions of her partner’s genitalia, and indecently assaulted another child after undressing them.
Nicola Murray, who led the domestic violence support group Brodie’s Trust, denied harming the children over a 20-year span but was convicted by a jury during a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month.
She appeared in the dock for sentencing on Thursday, where Sheriff Gillian Sharp stated: “You have been found guilty by a jury of your peers on all 10 counts of the indictment, encompassing a total of 20 years concerning four children.”
Prosecutor Cheryl Porter informed the jury that Nicola Murray had “systematically inflicted physical, emotional, and sexual abuse on these children for 20 years,” with one youngster stating they had been “treated like a dog.”
Ms. Porter stated that the victims had been “repeatedly struck, slapped, and dragged,” and that Nicola Murray had “consistently engaged in sexual conversations” with them.
She stated that one victim was found “naked, injured, and distressed” on the floor after a brutal assault, while another was so traumatised by the threat of further attacks that they had wet themselves.
Nicola Murray, a resident of Stanley, was sentenced to three years in prison and registered as a sex offender for a duration of ten years.
