A sex offender pensioner from Southampton, Kenneth Gibb, has been found guilty of indecently abusing a woman over 20 years ago.

Kenneth Gibb, a 92-year-old former merchant sailor, faced two accusations over an event that transpired at the victim’s residence in 2003.

After a trial at Southampton Crown Court, Kenneth Gibb was acquitted of one count of indecent assault but found guilty of the other.

Recorder Donald Tait, the presiding judge, mandated a pre-sentence report, and the case was postponed until August 26.

Giving evidence on the first day of the trial, the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the court: “I felt his hand on my belly then over my breasts, and I told him to stop.”

The woman said the ordeal made her want to “curl up and die”.

Kenneth Gibb, of Butts Road, Southampton, said he went into her bedroom after she asked him to give her a cuddle and “talk dirty” to her, but he denied both the allegations against him.
