A registered Norwich Rapist sex offender, Paddy Mutch, with 46 prior convictions for 99 offences has appeared in court for failing to notify the police of his location.

Paddy Mutch, 37, was incarcerated in January 2024 for sexually abusing a lady in Norwich, whom he had menaced with a knife.

He was sentenced to 15 months at Norwich Crown Court and registered as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years.

The Norwich Magistrates’ Court was informed that he was detained on June 16 for not disclosing his residence within three days of his release from incarceration.

He had recently been released after completing an 18-week sentence for analogous violations.

Paddy Mutch admitted guilt for not adhering to the notification obligations.

Natasha Baker, in mitigation, stated that he had experienced a “revolving door” of brief incarcerations due to his homelessness and that the police were “well aware of his location.” [BOLLOCKS]

She stated that he now had a stable residence and that returning to prison would jeopardise the treatment required for facial injuries sustained in a stabbing.

Magistrates informed him that the responsibility to adhere to the requirements rests with him, irrespective of his belief regarding the police’s knowledge of his whereabouts.

They stated they had been “merely convinced” to defer a 30-day incarceration term for six months due to his requirement for medical care.

“It is imperative that you adhere to compliance henceforth. “Failure to comply will result in irrevocable confinement,” they cautioned.

Paddy Mutch, a habitual criminal, has 46 prior convictions for 99 offences, encompassing stealing, burglary, and shoplifting.

His sexual crime occurred when he visited the residence of an acquaintance at 4 AM in June 2023 and insisted on being admitted.

Upon entry, he assaulted her, forcing her into the bed and attempting to disrobe her before perpetrating sexual violence while brandishing a knife.
