A convicted Kirkham Paedophile sex offender, Aaron Blake, who expressed a desire to serve as a school’s Father Christmas, has been imprisoned for sexually abusing boys during his tenure as a scout leader.
Aaron Blake, 69, was reported to law enforcement in December 2018 after disclosing to an acquaintance aware of his prior offences his aspiration to assume the position.
Lancashire Police reported that an inquiry revealed Aaron Blake had molested three boys during his tenure with cub scouts in the 1980s.
Aaron Blake was sentenced to five years and two months in prison at Preston Crown Court.
Aaron Blake, residing at Crofts Close, Kirkham, admitted guilt to gross indecency and three charges of indecent assault.
A police spokesperson stated that the victims were aged from seven to twelve during the assaults.
He stated that one individual had reported the historical abuse a month before to Aaron Blake’s arrest, while the other two were later identified by law enforcement.
Aaron Blake, who was jailed in 1996 for the indecent assault of a 12-year-old boy and was convicted of making indecent photographs of children in 2011, had “told someone he was hoping to play Father Christmas in local schools”, he said.
“Aware that Aaron Blake had previous convictions as a sex offender, they called police, who arrested him,” he added.
Investigating officer Simon Morris said Blake had abused the boys “over a number of years and robbed them of their innocence to satisfy his own depraved sexual desires”.
He said they had shown “bravery in coming forward” and “behaved with dignity throughout this investigation”.
