In 2026, Wesley Brito, a 47-year-old Brazilian national formerly of Swindon, was jailed for 18 years after pleading guilty to numerous child sexual abuse offences and the rape of an adult woman.

Wesley Brito, formerly of the Redhouse area of Swindon, appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, where he was sentenced for multiple serious sexual offences against two female victims. Brito was admitted to several counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, five counts of sexual activity with a child, rape and attempted rape of a child, sexual assault by penetration, and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. He also entered a guilty plea to the rape of a woman currently in her 40s.

The judge sentenced Brito to 18 years’ imprisonment. The court also made him subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and a restraining order.

Following his convictions for child rape, sexual assault, and adult rape, Brito was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, lifetime licence supervision, and potential deportation proceedings upon any eventual release from custody.
