After being found guilty of several sexual offences, Vishnu Remadevi, a 39-year-old man from Old Colwyn, was sentenced to prison.
Officers were notified of an alleged sexual assault at a residential residence in November of last year.
As the victim was reporting, it became apparent that the person who had accompanied them had also been the victim of other crimes committed by the same individual, including rape, assault, physical and psychological torture, and having their cell phone monitored.
Vishnu Remadevi was detained and charged by detectives with rape, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, intentional strangling, threatening with a bladed object, and controlling and coercive behaviour.
Vishnu denied any wrongdoing during the investigation, even going so far as to say that the two victims were working together against him.
Remadevi entered a guilty plea on the first day of his trial and was sentenced to an 11-year, 6-month prison term on Wednesday.
